Pastors’s training school kicked off two weeks ago!  After months of preparation, studying and tons of trips back and forth to the north coast for supplies it was finally here!

Tuesday morning day came and we were ready to recieve all the pastors from different places in the western highlands.  Two trucks shuttled back and forth picking up pastors in downtown Gracias, and our staff (Cynthia, Melissa and baby Mateo) signed them in and gave out the material for the 3 days of training.

A total of 46 pastors showed up and 6 more are to join us this month for our second round of training.

Three days for 12 lessons on basic discipleship themes and 46 pastors from 9 different denominations all with lots of questions came together and submitted ourselves to the word of God as our only authority. Over the three days of training we had many debates between the group, but as we had established the Bible as a common denominator, we challenged them to find the answer in the Bible rather than what they have heard from other people.

 

This coming week, begins our second month of training, Hallelujah!

We have several needs that we did not foresee; such as, volunteers for 4 pastors that do not read or write. We have a few volunteers that will sit with these pastors to read and write for them so when they go back home they can have a family member review the lessons with them.

 

We were also able purchase 3 tables needed for class purposes, which will work great for “team time”. We are ready to once again host these pastors that come from so far to study and search the truth in the word of God.

Prayer requests:

~Traveling safety for all the Pastors that will be arriving.

~Volunteers to assist the pastors who can’t read or write.

~Focus and understanding for the pastors to understand the lessons

~$600 to buy 8 more sturdy tables for the pastors to study on. (The tables pictured are extremely flimsy and hard to work on which only distracts the pastors more)  ((We received a donation to buy the first 3 tables this last month!!!!))

~Clay lost his phone (we need to replace it with a smartphone with a really good camera)
