This month we begun the study of Hermeneutics.  That’s just a fancy word to mean the method of interpreting the bible.

Although I was unsure about our pastors ability to grasp and wrestle with the hermeneutics process they rose to the occasion and really grabbed onto what we were learning.

Over the years there have been so many “bible” teachers that have passed through the countryside way up here in the mountains and have taught some really weird and flat out wrong “bible” teachings that our pastors had plenty of questions and verses for us to study and find out their true meanings.

A great example from Honduras (not from one of our pastors) is that great verse in Ephesians 10, that I’m sure we all have read, that the apostle Paul strictly prohibits eating pork.

Due to all this and more what we learned in this first month of Hermeneutics is anytime someone says; “the bible says…” we must always reply; “Show me where in the Bible it says that.”

I know some of you are still thinking about that verse in Ephesians, so while you chew on it for a little while here are a few pictures of day one of this month’s training!
