About The Powells

We met in 2008 when Clay came to Honduras to begin working as a missionary. Quickly becoming best friends, we dated for four years and married on the sunny beaches of our beloved Honduras in July of 2013. Being from two different cultures, we promised each other that we would form our own family culture with Christ and the Bible as our center. We have volunteered for the past several years with different organizations and are extremely blessed to begin working with the Foundation For Missions as independent full time missionaries. We are committed to living and working in Honduras to see that Christ be glorified in this poverty-stricken country where so many need His salvation TODAY!

We are a family that is dedicated to training, encouraging, and equipping rural Honduran pastors. We currently run a Bible Training Institute where 43 pastors learn for the first time how to study the Bible and develop sermons based on their study. When we aren’t in classes, we spend our time traveling to the mountain villages where our pastors live, to visit with them, encourage them, and reinforce what we are learning in class. On average, we travel about three hours on the rough mountain roads each time we go out to the villages. Through preaching, teaching, and encouraging, we have seen great growth in the lives of the pastors, like freedom from oppressive theology formerly accepted because of not being able to study God’s word for themselves. People are hearing God’s message of freedom from the bondage of sin, addictions, and even damaging teachings in churches that aren’t based on Biblical truth! We are humbled and excited to be a part of what God is doing here
in western Honduras and are eager to see what the future holds for God’s people here!
